Crown Services Minister Cliff Cullen and Manitoba Public Insurance recently announced that October 15th is the first day of The 16th annual Citizens on Patrol Week.
Members of Citizens on Patrol volunteer alongside local law enforcement agencies to help keep their communities safe. They volunteer by going on patrol looking for criminal activity, displaying speed reader boards, patroling school crossing zones, and conducting seatbelt and cell phone use surveys.
Over the past year COPP volunteers have contributed nearly 15,000 patrol hours and more then 22,000 volunteer hours to the program and Cliff Cullen believes these community minded volunteers deserve a special recognition.
