Blizzard Pull Ahead 2-1

The Blizzard pulled ahead of the Steinbach Pistons last night in their first home game of the semi-finals.

Reeve Sukut set the pace for the game only two minutes in, taking a pass from Brett Ward and dumping it past Pistons Goaltender Cole Plowman. Halfway through the first period, a Steinbach penalty allowed The Blizzard to apply more pressure as Keenan McNeill scored his first of the night, and second goal for the Blizzard.

The Pistons played a much better second period, outshooting the Blizzard 17-10 and scoring their first goal of the game 8 minutes and 30 seconds in. This wasn't enough to slow down the Blizzard however as Keenan McNeill answered back with his second goal of the night only 90 seconds later, keeping the Blizzard at a two-goal lead heading into the final period.

The Pistons again outshot the Blizzard, this time 13-6 during the third period, proving how vital Tomas Anderson has been to the Blizzard roster this year. Noah Szabo scored a goal on Tomas 13 minutes into the third period, making the Pistons make a tough decision minutes later. With an empty Pistons net Quincy Supprien sent one final message to the team, scoring the Blizzard's 4th goal of the night with only two seconds left of the game.

The Blizzard now lead the series 2-1 heading into tonight's game which will be held at the Roy H Johnston Arena at 7 PM. CJAR will be broadcasting tonight's game immediately following your OCN Media Bingo, set to finish at approximately 7:45 PM.

Elsewhere the Virden Oil Capitals face the Winkler Flyers in their series at 7:30 PM, the Oil Capitals currently lead 2-1.
