Blizzard Earn a Chance at Second Place in the West Division

The Blizzard earned four points over the weekend and solidified their spot in the current standings.

On Saturday Ethan Bibeau scored his first goal as a blizzard and Adam Belzil scored during the first and third period, ending the night 3-2 against Guerin Apperley and the Waywayseecappo Wolverines.

On Sunday the Blizzard were headed to Virden to face the top team in the MGEU West Division. Adam Belzil opened up scoring late into the first period before the Virden Oil Capitals answered with a tripping penalty only 17 seconds later.

After a scoreless second period for both teams, another Virden tripping penalty during the third period allowed Sam Zagari to get one past Eric Reid halfway through the period. Nolan Chastko scored the lone Virden goal 5 minutes later before the Blizzard wrapped up the night 2-1.

The Blizzard sit in third place in the MGEU West Division, one point behind the second-place Dauphin Kings and 5 points ahead of the Neepawa Titans. A battle for second place isn't far off either, as the Blizzard are headed to Dauphin to face the Kings on Tuesday.
