MB School Boards Bill 64

The President of the Manitoba School Boards Association spoke to Arctic Radio about the provincial government’s controversial education bill. One of the main points of Bill 64, ‘The Education Modernization Act’, is that it would eliminate most locally-elected school boards in favour of regional school councils, which would be appointed by the government. Alan Campbell called the legislation “anti-democratic”, and that it removes the local community voice in education.
