Five Teams Leaving the Keystone Junior Hockey League

It has been announced that five hockey teams from the Keystone Junior Hockey
League will be leaving to join their own league. The Teams leaving include The
Selkirk Fisherman, The Lundar Falcons, The St Malo Warriors, The Arborg Ice
Dogs, and the North Winnipeg Satellites.

The reasons teams gave behind their decisions to leave the league was that they
could not afford to travel north anymore despite having their accommodations and
transportation paid for by the northern teams when they visit northern
communities and some teams claimed that players parents were reluctant to allow
their children to travel by bus after the Humboldt Broncos bus crash.

Jeremy Hohn the General manager of The OCN Storm told Arctic Radio news that
he was very disappointed by these actions and claimed that league commissioners
lied about the five southern teams plans.

The five other teams inducing the OCN Storm will remain in the Keystone League
and Nelson House in conjunction with the City of Thompson have expressed
interest in creating an expansion team.

The league hopes to have more expansion teams in the future.

Correction: An Earlier Version of This Story Said Jeremy Hohn the was the General Manager of The OCN Blizzard when in fact he is the GM for the KJHL's OCN Storm
