Blizzard add Kustra to shore up goaltending


The OCN Blizzard have signed 1997’ born goaltender Matt Kustra.

 

Kustra comes to OCN having played the last 2 seasons with the Yorkton Terriers. Previous to Yorkton, he spent time with the Midget AAA Notre Dame Argos and Hounds.

 

In his 2 seasons in Yorkton, Kustra played 48 games posting save percentages of .887 and .900.

 

Coming to OCN, Kustra will play alongside familiar faces in Lantz Hiebert and Hayden Yaremko, the three played at Notre Dame during the same period. Kustra won a Saskatchewan Midget AAA Championship in 2013-14.

 

Kustra has joined the OCN Blizzard this weekend is expected to see his first game action over the next few games. He along with Brett Epp, help solidify the OCN Blizzard crease as they make a push towards the playoffs.

 

Kustra was drafted by Prince George of the WHL, in the 8th round of 2012.  

 

His younger brother Jake Kustra is currently with the Saskatoon Blades.
