School Boards Across the Province are Nominating Students for Special Awards

Nominations are being accepted until February 6th for the Manitoba School Boards Association Student Citizenship Awards.  Their Director of Education and Communication Services Heather Demetrioff says nominations are made by schools through the school board and are open to all public school students Kindergarten to grade twelve.

She explains the awards are actually a citizenship award so they’re not based on academic performance necessarily although they have some high performing students that are nominated for them but it’s based on their service within the school and the community.

Demetrioff adds an award is given to a student in each of the Association’s six geographic areas and one provincial award for a student group.
