Manitobans Reminded to be Prepared for Extreme Cold

Even with mild temperatures winter is far from over and Manitoba Health, seniors and Active Living is reminding Manitoba's to exercise caution in the extreme cold.

Exposure to the cold can result in life threatening problems like frostbite or hypothermia.

Older adults, infants and young children, people living with chronic illnesses, outdoor workers, and the homeless are at a greater risk if they are not properly dressed for the weather.

You’re encouraged to wear multiple layers and to cover exposed skin while outside in the extreme cold, and to have someone with you while taking part in winter activities in case of an emergency.

You are also reminded to check road conditions before leaving on a trip and you can do that by calling 511 or online at manitoba511.ca
