MP Niki Ashton attended the inaugural Sanders Institute Gathering in Burlington Vermont last week.

The event was organized by co-founders Jane Sanders and David Driscoll and Ashton was joined by American Senator Bernie Sanders, Greek economist Yanis Varoufakis and others in launching progressive international, a global movement to end inequality, exploitation, discrimination, and environmental degradation.

Ashton stated that we are at the crossroads in Canada and globally and we can stand with the one percent, their destructive pipelines, and corporate greed or we can stand with the people already leading the fight.

Jane Sanders said that she was thrilled to have Ashton present at the gathering.
