Desiree Lambert from The Pas Community Renewal Corporation spoke to Arctic Radio news last Friday to announce that they have been approved for $16,708 from Manitoba’s Neighborhoods Alive Program to establish The Pas Bear Clan Patrol Chapter. The Bear Clan Patrol program began in Winnipeg in the early 1990’s and members of the Bear Clan Patrol the streets of the community to help keep the community safe.
Lambert says Bear Clan Patrols are a community based solution to crime prevention and community safety. The Pas Bear Clan Chapter is expected to be launched in August or September and they are still looking for volunteers that would like to join. If you would like to be a volunteer, forms can be picked up at the Town of The Pas Municipal Office or by calling 204-978-0567 or 204-623-4269.
