Greyhound Ending Bus and Freight services in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba

As of October 31, the only Greyhound bus route that will operate in B-C will be the one running from Vancouver to Seattle. The company says all other routes are being cancelled -- a decision Greyhound Canada senior vice-president Stuart Kendrick says is regretful. All bus and freight services in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba will also be axed on the same date and Kendrick says 415 employees and approximately two million consumers will be impacted. Kendrick said the decision will leave most of the affected communities with no other transportation options but the company says it had few options because a 41 per cent decline in ridership since 2010 -- as well as other factors -- make the service unsustainable.
