The Pas Community Development Corporation and Tri Council Submit Smart Cities Challenge Application

The Pas Community Development Corporation and the Tri Council have submitted an application for a Ten Million dollar cash prize from the smart cities challenge. The Smart Cities Challenge is a pan Canadian competition put on by infrastructure Canada that awards prize money for community projects that benefit residents and the challenge is open to all communities.

 

The CDC took the lead in approaching the Tri Council to apply for the smart cities challenge and over 30 people from the group assisted with writing the application. The group received word on April 30th that their application was accepted out of 100 submissions and it will now move to the evaluation by their jury. Minister Amarjeet Sohi announced membership of the jury on April 26th.

 

The winners of the smart cities challenge will be announced next year.
