After it was announced that The Pas Friendship Centre would be transferring the Oscars Place Homeless Shelter to The Manitoba Housing Renewal Corporation Olivia McCorriston, a longtime supporter of the Oscars Place Homeless Shelter spoke to Arctic Radio News where she said that it was excellent that Manitoba Housing has worked hard to secure the building and that they have heart for those in the community that are homeless.

While Manitoba Housing owns the building the Stand Up for Oscars Place Group will still be the tenant at the Shelter and they will be conducting the operations. McCorriston added that this is a great opportunity for The Stand Up For Oscars Place Group to start doing longer term planning and build partnerships to address the needs of the homeless population in The Pas.
