Manitoba Liberal Party Leader Fighting For A Provincial Homeless Strategy

Manitoba’s Liberal Party Leader Dougald Lamont firmly believes that there needs to be a provincial strategy for extreme weather response for Manitoba’s homeless population to ensure that they have a warm place to stay.

Lamont stated in a news release that very few homeless shelters provide a place to stay 24/7 and they require people to leave during the day putting them at risk of frostbite or death from exposure. He added that this is a caring province where communities are stepping up to help but he feels the province isn’t pulling its weight.

Lamont is encouraging people to take action and help the Oscars Place Homeless Shelter here in The Pas by watching The Pas Huskies video for The Chevrolet Good Deeds Cup. If they win the cup they will receive $15,000 to go towards the shelter.

You can find the video on Chevrolet Canada’s You Tube Channel. The more views the video has the better the chance they have of winning.
