The Pas Council Discusses Issues with The Towns Library Building

The Pas Town Councilors discussed the ongoing issues with the communities aging library building at Monday night’s Committee of the Whole meeting. Mayor Jim Scott told CJAR that the current building is suffering from structural issues and that they are looking at ceasing the funding for the building and to find an alternative location for the library.

According to a request form presented at the meeting, A possible alternative location for the library was the Sam Waller Museum but due to the weight load of the libraries books this idea was abandoned.

Scott would like to ensure residents that the town has no intention of closing the library even if it does have to move to a new location. At this time it is unclear where the library will move to and this issue is expected to be discussed by town council on a later date.
