Town Council Talks About Issues With The Roy H Johnston Arena Rink Ice

Town Council had a special meeting on Wednesday to talk about the ongoing issues with the rink at the Roy H Johnston Arena. Councilor Chad Zolinski says they talked about the state of the arena and the fact that there is no ice on the rink yet. The arena staff has had problems keeping ice on the rink due to leaks in the brine system.

Councilor Chad Zolinski added that they received a quote from a rink repair company that said it would cost $200,000 to fix the rink, If any repairs have to be made, the rink could be down for three or four months.

Ice has since been put onto the rink once again and the hope is that the ice will hold together so that the rink can be used. Town Council also discussed what they will do in the future so that they do not have this problem next fall. It is not yet known when the rink will be ready for skating.
