NDP labour critic Tom Lindsey is urging premier Pallister to start working with the federal government, the City of Churchill and the surrounding communities to take over the rail line to Churchill before it is too late to make repairs.

Lindsey believes that if these delays continue Churchill and other northern communities will face economic disaster and residents will face great personal hardships as supplies become more expensive and difficult to obtain.

Omnitrax said that there is a very narrow window left this summer for repairs to be completed.
