A letter from the OCN Blizzard Board was discussed at last weeks committee of the whole meeting at The Pas Town Hall. The letter stated that the OCN Blizzard Board met with council to talk about the status of the Junior A Team.
The Blizzard asked if the Town would allow them to hold two games at the Roy H Johnston Arena, and they requested if they could provide in-kind memberships for players to practice at the Wellness Centre. A resolution to grant the team these requests is expected to be passed at the next council meeting on August 16th.
Last winter the OCN Blizzard was notified that they would close at the end of the season and The Town of The Pas provided the team with a five thousand dollar donation towards their annual operations.
