Gun violence and Drug Trafficking was the target of an RCMP Operation last week. 17 police officers and members of different RCMP teams took part in the the deployment. Two search warrants and a consent search of a residence were completed on houses in Grand Rapids.  As a result of the search, police located and seized cocaine, marijuana, hash oil, trafficking paraphernalia, Canadian currency, cell phones and a stolen firearm. Six adults and one youth, all from Grand Rapids, were arrested and charged with multiple offences.  Two males from Chemawawin were also arrested in the community as a result of enforcement efforts. The “D” Division Action Response Team is a crime-reduction strategy that involves leveraging RCMP resources to address specific emerging public safety issues.
