Northern Delegates Sign Memorandum of Understanding

Members of 17 northern communities met on Friday to sign a memorandum of understanding in support of regional economic development. The Pas Mayor Jim Scott explains why the signing is important.

"Well because it shows unity, the communities that are affected the most by the railroad, are the ones that are most involved in getting that railroad moving forward. It really is a show of unity and solidarity."

The northern group has now created a committee headed by the Mayor of Churchill Mike Spence and the Chief of the Opaskwayak Cree Nation Christian Sinclair. The committee will now work towards development in regards to the bay line. 102.9 CJAR will have updates as they become available from the committee.
