Job cuts by OmniTrax at the port of Churchill are expected to have drastic effects across northern Manitoba. Around 75 to 80 jobs have been cut between Churchill, The Pas and between on the rail line. Mayor Jim Scott who’s in Winnipeg meeting with municipal and provincial leaders has more. "I think the outcome is going to be that there needs to be a reversal. I think that they can do that, maybe we're not gonna ship three, four thousand tons of grain out of Churchill but we need to spend some of that grain up." 

Scott is hoping they can save as many jobs as possible but it’s expected 12 workers in the Pas will lose their jobs, along with 30 and 40 seasonal rail shipping jobs as well.
