A five year old girl has died after her family canoe capsized on the Churchill river Wednesday evening. An adult male and his 2 children, a 5-year old girl and 4-year old boy had to be pulled from the river. The 3 occupants of the Canoe were taken to hospital where the 4-year old girl died of her injuries. RCMP media Relations Holly Plato has more on the investigation.

"The investigation to this is ongoing, we need to determine the cause of death for the little girl. Our investigators will be taking steps to determine that right now."

The occupants were wearing life jackets. The family was from Winnipeg and the incident does not appear to be suspicious in nature.
