Lathlin Remains The Pas MLA

A historic night for the Progressive Conservative Party of Manitoba. They won the provincial election last night with a majority government 40 of 57 possible seats. In The Pas riding incumbent NDP candidate Amanda Lathlin survived a close race with PC Candidate Doug Lauvstad to remain as MLA. Lathlin received 1944 votes, PC Doug Lauvstad received 1759 votes, Liberal Tyler Duncan received 555 and Green Party candidate Patrick Wood 216. All numbers are unofficial and will become official in the coming days. Just over 4,400 votes were cast in the riding, a turnout of just 31%. Greg Selinger has resigned as NDP Party leader as a result of the election.
