Thursday morning, a spokesman with the Northern Regional Health Authority confirmed. The newborn weighed seven pounds, 14.5 ounces. The family's identity wasn't released.
Meanwhile, Winnipeg’s first baby of the new year is Owen Fraser Martel. He was delivered at 1:18 a.m. at Winnipeg’s Health Sciences Centre, weighing just two pounds, two ounces, the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority said the family is requesting privacy at this time, WRHA spokeswoman Melissa Hoft said.
