Lyet’s claims first place prize in the first downtown Beautification program contest held in The Pas.

The Pas Community Development Corporation organized the program and all those participating were entered into the contest, and winners proclaimed by a panel of judges.

Lyet’s, located at 235 Fischer Avenue, was deemed the winner of the contest. Second place went to XTR gas station and third to L&M Sporting Goods.
 

Shawn Mckinney, executive director for TPCDC said the program is designed to help beautify the downtown area, to provide a good impression on visitors and show pride in our community.  The program helped assist store owners in the purchase of the flowers and the benefits to the community were immediately obvious. 

McKinney says that in the spring of 2015 the program will once again be offered to interested businesses.
