Steps for Success- Accountability & Motivation

Come over to the YWCA for their Steps to Success Program! They are offering a variety of Essential Skills training courses throughout the month of May. If you are interested, call 204-677-5016 or drop in and visit the good folks in the basement of the YWCA for more information.

 

Come in May 25th for their Upskills: Accountability courses from 10am- 12pm and their Upskills: Motivation courses from 1pm- 3pm .

A chance for everyone to get up close and personal with a variety of construction and emergency vehicles, play some games and enjoy some BBQ hot dogs and treats.

 

All proceeds go to Kiddies Northern Preschool and School age program.

50+ Duplicate Bridge

From 1:00PM to 4:00PM

People aged 50 and over can play duplicate bridge today at the Flin Flon Seniors Center in the Flin Flon Community Hall. Takes place at 1 pm every Friday.

Seniors Choir

From 1:15PM to 2:15PM

The Flin Flon/Creighton Seniors Choir meets every Friday at 1:15 pm in the Seniors Centre at the Flin Flon Community Hall. Everyone is welcome to enter in an hour of singing.

Clean Community Month 2018

Take part in our annual community spring clean up and help keep Thompson clean and beautiful. Here are some of the upcoming ways you can participate:

 

E-Waste Disposal- @ the Waste disposal grounds on Saturdays from 8am- 4pm.

Open May 5th- October 27th.

 

Compost Site- Located beside the Public Works Yard, open 24/7. Takes grass clippings & leaves.

 

Buisness Challange- Register @ City Hall. Starts June 1st from 1pm- 4pm. Gloves, Bags & water provided.

 

Clean Community Day- Register @ Robin's Donuts. Starts June 2nd from 9am- 4pm. Gloves, Bags & water provided. $3 for every bag turned in.

Safe Boating Awareness Week (May 19th - 25th)

Safe Boating Awareness Week is May 19th to 25th.

 

The Canadian Safe Boating Council  remind you to wear a PFD or Lifejacket, boat sober, take a boating course.

 

Be sure both you and your vessel are prepared, and be wary of the dangers of cold water immersion.

 

Enjoy a fun and safe boating season.
